Approved therapist:
An EMDR approved Psychotherapist is a Professional Member who has completed additional advanced clinical training and consultation in the application of EMDR therapy, beyond Basic EMDR Training.
Requirements:
- License or certification as a mental health professional.
- Certificate of completion of an EMDR Egypt recognized training
- Provide documentation supporting the following statements: that you have at least two years’ experience in psychotherapy. You Have conducted at least 50 EMDR sessions with at least 25 clients.
- Undertaken a minimum of 20 hours consultation/ clinical supervision with an EMDR Egypt approved Consultant(s) which includes witnessing the applicants EMDR clinical work either through video recorded sessions or in-vivo.
- Provide letter(s) of recommendation from one or more EMDR Egypt approved consultant(s) in EMDR, regarding your EMDR clinical practice.
- Provide two letters of recommendation regarding your professional utilization of EMDR, ethics in practice, and professional character. These letters may be from colleagues or peers.
- Provide certificate(s) of completion of 12 hours EMDR Egypt approved Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in EMDR that are completed after the EMDR training.
Approved Consultant:
Approved EMDR Psychotherapists who are approved to provide EMDR consultation. An approved EMDR Consultant has completed advanced clinical training as well as additional clinical case consultation hours, where their consultation work has been observed.
Requirements:
- Three years of experience as an EMDR Egypt approved therapist.
- Treated a broad range of clients of varying diagnoses and complexity
- Completed a minimum of 300 EMDR sessions
- Treated a minimum number of 75 clients
- Demonstrate competency in the provision of EMDR clinical supervision/ consultation (This will ordinarily be a minimum of 20 hours)
- Provide letter(s) of recommendation from one or more EMDR Egypt approved senior consultant(s) in EMDR, regarding the quality of your EMDR consultation to others.
- Provide two letters of recommendation regarding your professional utilization of EMDR, ethics in practice, and professional character. These letters may be from colleagues or peers.
- Have a certificate of competency from undertaking an EMDR Egypt approved Consultants training.
- Provide certificate(s) of completion for minimum of 24 hours EMDR Continuous Professional Development (CPD) since becoming an approved EMDR Egypt Practitioner.
- Submitted a minimum of three videos or in-vivo sessions of an EMDR clinical session, an individual EMDR clinical Supervision session and of a Group EMDR Clinical Supervision.
Approved Trainer:
EMDR Egypt approves EMDR trainers and trainings that meet EMDR Europe standards in training.
